Martin started his membership with UFCW Local 7 in June of 1987, as a 16-year-old Courtesy Clerk for Safeway in Monte Vista, CO.  He became a Union Steward at age 18 and was elected to the Executive Board at the age of 21. 

He was hired as the Mountain Area Union Representative at the age of 25.  Since then, he served various cities throughout Colorado.  He was promoted to Personnel/Retail Director in October of 2012 and then promoted to his current position as Executive Assistant to the President in October of 2014. 

Martin states, “It has been a heck of a ride, but I would not change it for the world.  Serving our members has always been in my DNA.”
